They say it’s the backbone of the nation’s economy. Others call it the American Dream. But regardless of your thoughts about it, being the owner of a small business can be both rewarding and challenging.

 
As well as having a full-time job, writing for this blog and being hubby/daddy, I also own a small business. I’m not going to go into details about it because this forum isn’t for promoting the business. 
 
Since starting the business in May, my partner and I have been very encouraged by our success. We’ve worked really hard to make our brand trustworthy in the eyes of those who may be seeking services we provide. And in turn, we’ve landed some high-profile clients and provided a variety of services for them.

Not being on the same page financially can make your relationship feel like a tug-of-war.  According to many marriage experts, money is the number one cause of fights and divorce for married couples.  Because of that fact, my wife and I decided before got married over three years ago to set some financial goals and stick to them.
I highlighted the word before because it was extremely important for us to be on the same page going into the marriage instead of waiting until the “I Dos” were exchanged.  Taking that approach, we have not had any real money fights.  Disagreements: Yes! Fights: No!
