  1. Cry me a river, buddy!
Seriously though, I sincerely hope he can get that in check and be a better person from the situation.

  2. ToranceH says:

I think he was definitely helped by a PR team but it seems sincere for the most part.
We just need to forgive him and let him and Rihanna move on with there lives.

  3. Misty Lacefield says:

My hope is that he’s sincere…my gut tells me though that he’s just trying to salvage what career he has left. It seems a little late to finally be apologizing publicly. After waiting this long he could have just played the, “I’d rather keep it private” route. He beat the crap out of her, there’s no excuse. Period.

    • Torrey says:

You know, you can look at it from a couple of different angles. He admits to seeing his mother abused growing up. So either that would make him not want to put another woman through that. Or, subconsciously he has accepted those actions and acted them out them that fateful night.

As a person who has worked in public relations for more about nine years, there’s probably a bit of regret as well as wanting to do whatever it takes to get his career back on track. Let’s not forget how many people against him (and understandably so)! We all know it’s going to be a long haul back. But if Kobe can do it, believe me, anyone can!

  4. BlackGirlNamedKaiti says:

I think his apology was just way too scripted. If it had been a little choppy or didn’t flow as well, maybe even apologized directly to Rhianna or something. But it was written by an attorney and he read it off cards. BOO!!!

    Hmmm…

As a woman who has had ONE man put his hands on me, I usually find domestic violence goes one of two routes:
1). The man/woman hits once, sees the anguish it causes and never does it again.
    2). Is a repeat offender.

I do not know Chris Brown so I cannot judge him. I do not know exactly what happened so its not my place to call the sincerity of his apology.

As a sidenote, I would like to express that I don’t believe that a man should restrain himself because he’s a “man” and that women should have free reign AT ALL. I have seen some crazy-ayss women here in Los Angeles that will box anyone for any reason real or imagined and cause damage. Women are not wallflowers, they DO have strength and they DO hurt. If Rihanna hit him she should have charges pressed against her as well. Sadly, there are double standards in this society about what men should put up with when it comes to violent women as well as personal judgements from others about what constitutes a real man.

I just hope they both now have higher standards in who they choose to cavort with and how they act in such relationships. No man should be with a woman who is untrustworthy or violent and no woman should be with a man with such qualities either. If your mate brings out the worst in you, they’re bad for you, period. Know your boundaries.
